Thank you for the extra effort reviewing the writing with your child at night. The students are ready! Please remember that ELA testing is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week. We will test in our room with laptops and will begin PROMPTLY at 8:00. Please make sure your child is here on time those days. Students are not allowed to enter the room after testing has begun. IT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA to make sure your child is here by 7:35 ish so he/she can go out for the brain run/walk. Research strongly supports that getting that blood flowing will help those brains! Students will also receive a snack after the run to eat before testing begins. STILL send in a daily snack for them to eat after testing.
I have told the class IF they ALL use scratch paper to plan their writing piece first and use scratch paper to solve math problems they will earn a pizza party! Stay tuned… QUESTIONS TO ASK: What do you read first that will also help you determine the main idea of a passage? Where does poetry hide? How do you make a word possessive? What are quotation marks for? REMEMBER: *Students need a good breakfast, good night’s sleep, and stress free morning before testing. *Invention Convention projects with completed PowerPoint presentations are due Monday, April 29. Working on the project will be the only homework on the nights before testing. *Send in any extra Legos for the Tritt STEAM Room. Student leadership is weighing the Legos and recording it on a graph in the hallway. We don't have any yet, so if you can help, thanks! *The room moms sent an email about volunteering for field day. I hope some of you can help. NEXT WEEK - Reviewing, testing, and writing poetry! They also have a lesson in the LLC with Mrs. Bates about reference materials, a guidance lesson with Mrs. Grindstaff and next Friday is a STEAM morning - so there is some fun in there, too! The class also filled up the compliment bucket AGAIN and voted to have an extra recess. Next week after testing will be a perfect time for that! Have a great weekend!
