Wow! Thank you to everyone who was able to come and support the kickball game!!!! It was so much fun and a huge success. Even though we didn't win the game we did accomplish the goal -raise money for the Rally Foundation. Together everyone raised over $11,000! Thank you for being part of such a worthy endeavor.
Our class was also very successful during testing. Thanks again for all the support making sure they were here, ready, and on time. We are sooo glad that's over and we can resume a normal routine and have fun learning. Thank you to Mrs. Dean for coming to our class with the IPAD cart for math this week. My math students are using Spark Video to make presentations that teach the 5 different multiplication strategies they've learned. You will have an opportunity to scan a QR code while you're waiting for your conference and watch them. STEM: In science students had a great time using 15 Starbursts to make models of Igneous (lava, magma) , Metamorphic (heat and pressure) ,and Sedimentary (layers) rocks. I've included those simple, key words so you can ask your child how they made their models. REMINDERS: International Walk To School Day at Tritt Wednesday, Oct. 5 I'll be walking from the Chimney Springs Clubhouse! Come join me. Parents you don't have to walk with us, but are certainly invited. We would like to invite you to walk/ bike to school on Wednesday, Oct 5. You can walk/bike with your parents or you can join the Tritt Staff at the following spots:
WHEN WE RETURN: Homework and planner signing will resume Monday night! Math: Finish our presentations and begin understanding what it means to divide. Reading: Begin exploring what character traits are and how getting to know our character helps us understand the story better. Writing: Add transition words to narratives, edit for spelling, and make the final revisions before we publish the next week. Science: In the science lab students have been learning about the different types of soils. We will study the layers of soil and receive a study guide for a test about soils the following week. I hope you have a wonderful break and some great family time.
