Here's hoping this week's publishes! Last week I was bragging on how hard your children are working on their nonfiction books. They are using their nonfiction informational reports to create a nonfiction book that has to include 3 text features - diagram, caption, etc. It is exciting to watch them plan a layout and begin to publish their book. They will have fun in January sharing them with our STEAM buddies!
QUESTIONS TO ASK: How has Attean and Matt's friendship changed throughout our read aloud Sign of the Beaver? Why is it important to look at the key on a graph? How did your STEAM buddy do with his/her retelling of The Three Billy Goats Gruff? REMEMBER: * We need all auction items by next Thursday. * Next Friday is PJ day. *Next Thursday and Friday dismissal is at 12:30. *Be sure to check SeeSaw for pictures of the children reading their projects and a project they completed in the ILC. NEXT WEEK: Math - We are going to do our first STEAM project totally focused on our math standard - reading and creating graphs. There will also be a couple of assessments on problem solving and graphing. Language Arts - Continuing to listen to the Sharing through the Seasons projects and publishing their nonfiction books will be the focus. Of course the class holiday party, school-wide sing along with Polar Express day afterward will be the week's highlights!
